The church de S. Gonçalo is one of the most photographed city, not the beauty in particular, but the framework that you get when take pictures from east side of Funchal to all weste, including the huge bay. This image is not an example, because this was not my purpose. Just I wanted to attach it to the ship at sea wolf one more trip back from the island of Porto Santo.

A historic building from the city center, there are several panels of mosaics with these colors, blue and white, which portray the experiences of other times on the island of Madeira.
In this case, refers to the train, traveling between the lower par of the city and high on Monte e Terreiro da Luta, during the first half of the twentieth century. A number of accidents due to the characteristics of the line, very steep, together with the second world war dictated his removal. Today, the train It are in the name of the whole route: Rua do Comboio.
At right is yet another transport, this very typical, and is still in full swing, with the transport of tourists on the Monte to a lower zone of the city.

Ficou o nome a todo percurso: Rua do Comboio.
Gardens to the south of the Palace of São Lourenço, a monument built in the sixteenth century that is now headquarters of the army and the official residence of the representative of the Portuguese Republic in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
I think it can be used for other purposes, although a part of the building is open to visitors.
