The AIDASol cruise ship arrive today for winter season in Madeira and Canary islands week cruises. Until april 2012 she will arrive at Funchal on sundays and departs on mondays afternoon. The first picture was taken with three onboard AIDAsol live camera and we can see Funchal city from the the. And, at the same time, I make the others pictures from my home. 

Today is a bad day in Funchal with some rain and a not much sun. Because that, this picture isn't from today. I take it from my house. It's the iron door shadow of the Santa Clara church, that belongs to Santa Clara monastery. I like the draw in the floor with small rocks from Madeira beachs. 

The autumn begin today in Madeira island and in all north hemisphere. And the wheather show as you can see in this picture that show east site of Funchal city.

O outono começou hoje na ilha da Madeira e em todo o hemisfério norte. E o tempo mostra isso mesmo como pode ver nesta imagem que fiz esta manhã com vista para a parte leste da cidade do Funchal.

Funchal city has done some works for the benefit of the pedestrians. Where were streets, now exists wide spaces to walking. Avenida Arriaga is an exemple of that. 

The origins of the Madeira Wine Company started in 1913 when two companies, Welsh & Cunha and Henriques & Camara, joined forces to form the Madeira Wine Association Lda. Through the lean years that followed more companies joined to ensure their survival by reducing costs and pooling production whilst maintaining commercial independence.
Blandy’s and Leacock’s amalgamated their interests and joined the association in 1925.
Other companies all joined the association in the years that followed. The spirit of the union, ably organised by Tom Mullins, was to maintain the individuality of the different companies together with their respective styles of wines while at the same time reducing overheads. 

This is not a new photo and have some months. But I find it and I like the composition with the water jets from the tug and all the sailing boats starting a race to the other side of the Atlantic ocean. 

I like flowers but normaly I don't now the name. This is an exemple. But I like this colors and I take a picture. You can see them in a little church near Jardim Municipal, the presbyterian church. 

Quinta Vigia has beautifull gardens that can be visited for free. In this photo, where you see the geometrics figures on the top left, it was a tennis court until some years ago. 

I have some plants and small trees in my garden, the last floor of a small building surrounded by museums. This is an real olive from one of them. 

The Saborável factory was born in 1905 in Funchal. It's principal production is the traditional sweets regional Madeira Island. Today have some 160 products Saborável, many variants, fruit development and innovation of traditional recipes. 

I like very much cuise ships. And, from my home I can see them coming and going out in Funchal port that had in 2011 the visit from 303 cruise ships and more than 540.000 passagengers. I did this zoom to the last departure of Ventura, a big cruise ship. Like you see, the passagengers appreciate that special moments. Gosto muito de navios de cruzeiros. E, da minha casa, tenho a felicidade de poder vê-los entrar e sair do Porto do Funchal que em 2011 teve a visita de 303 paquetes e mais de 540 mil passageiros. Fiz este zoom na última partida do Ventura, um grande navio de cruzeiros. Como pode ver, os passageiros apreciam muito estes momentos.

    Two flags in an official building. The green an red it's from Portugal, my country. And the other one, blue and yellow, it's from Madeira Autonomous Region, where I live. Normaly, they put the flags on weekends and public holidays. 

   
   I take this picture in Funchal bay, in a place where they put all rocks that came by streams on a bad day of heavy rains in the city, on february 20th 2010. They put plenty of rocks and debris on a beach. Now, the idea is to make one more point to dock big ships. For now, it provides a picture ugly. But, in the ugly, I found in this framework that I liked, despite the simplicity. ~~~~ Fiz esta fotografia na baía do Funchal, num local onde estão depositadas as pedras e rochas que vieram pelas ribeiras num dia de grandes chuvadas na cidade, a 20 de fevereiro de 2010. Colocaram uma infinidade de rochas e detritos sobre uma praia. Agora, a ideia é fazer mais um ponto para atracar navios. Por enquanto, proporciona uma imagem feia. Mas, no feio encontrei este enquadramento e gostei, apesar da simplicidade.
