This image shows some recovered buildings. In the foreground, we see part of the Madeira Legislative Assembly where before it was discovered the Alfândega do Funchal (Customs of Funchal). Then we have several buildings with different purposes. And finally the cathedral.

This vessel, the Volcan de Tijarafe passes twice weekly in the port of Funchal. It belongs to the Spanish company Naviera Armas, with headquarters in the Canary Islands. The first passage is Saturday. Come to Gran Canaria and leaves Madeira towards Portimaão in southern Portugal. Come back to Funchal on Monday, the same day the she leaves for Tenerife, in Canary Islands.
Because it is a ferry carries passengers, cars and cargo.

Este navio, o Volcan de Tijarafe, passa duas vezes por semana no porto do Funchal. Pertence à companhia espanhola Naviera Armas, com sede nas ilhas Canárias. A primeira passagem é ao sábado. Vem de Gran Canaria e deixa a Madeira em direcção a Portimão, no sul de Portugal. Regressa e volta a passar no Funchal na segunda-feira, dia em que sai para Tenerife, nas Canárias.
Por se tratar de um ferry, transporta passageiros, carros e carga.

The cruise ship Norwegian Jade regularly passes through the port of Funchal. Besides the different architecture of the ship, I like the paintings on the bow.

O navio de cruzeiros Norwegian Jade passa regularmente pelo porto do Funchal. Além da arquitectura diferente do paquete, sobressaem as pinturas que tem na proa.

The city of Funchal was facing last week celebrations for one of its icons: the flowers. This image shows some of which exist throughout the year hanging in the streets. I tried to make a mixture and I composed flowers with the light and with the tower of the building of the Fiscal Affairs Department, one of the most photographed in the city from tourists.

A cidade do Funchal ainda está viver da semana passada de festas por um dos seus ícones: as flores. Esta imagem mostra algumas das que existem ao longo do ano penduradas pelas ruas. Procurei fazer uma mistura e enquadrei as flores com a luz e a torre do edifício da Direcção Regional dos Assuntos Fiscais, uma das mais fotografadas da cidade pelos turistas.

What seems, is not always true. This image shows a paraglider practitioner to prepare for landing. Sure it's not on top of the building but in an area near the sea.
