Do you remenber this cruise ship? Maybe, only by the photo, you don't recognize. It's Costa Concordia going to west after left Funchal port in march 20 in 2011. The ship sank after colliding with rock near the harbor of Isola del Giglio in January 2012. In this picture you can see also the São Pedro church tower. I think this the only picture that I have with this perspective.
I take this photo in last january 11 when Costa Delizioza is going out from Funchal port. Today, the Costa Cruises ship is cruising in Caribbean, in direction to Coracao.
Two ships in Funchal harbour. On it's stop in Funchal port, and another is arriving "between" the Costa Cruises ship smoke.
This paintings exist since many years in a travel agency named Ferraz. Those ships did regular trips from some countrys to another. And they came to Madeira island during the trip. But the airplanes change everything and the long regular lines stopped.
This travel agency continues to have a link to ships in supporting in passage through Funchal port. The principal company is Costa Cruises. I think it was since the time this company did regular trips with sips like Frederico C.

A principal é a Costa Cruises.
This image was taken on the final leg in Funchal of the Black Prince cruise ship, sailing today in Venezuela under another name. Across the port are two cruise ships of Costa Cruises: Costa Luminosa, foreground, and the Costa Europa, which I think has not joined today the fleet of Italian company.

The Costa Fortuna, a Costa Cruises ship, in one of its stops in Funchal port. This view of the viewpoint of Cruzes, shows another side of a ship of a company (known by the C in the funnel) that comes to Funchal for decades.
Looks like a race between the cruise ships of the MSC Cruisess and Costa Cruises. But it is not. The two ships have just left the port of Funchal and is about to double the Garajau, a nature reserve on the island of Madeira.
This picture shows part of the Funchal harbor, with Costa Atlantica of Costa Cruises, docked on port, and, in first plane, a century historical construction named Convento de Santa Clara
