Hoje é um dia especial para o site Funchal Daily Photo pois completa 7 anos. Foram 7 anos de publicações ininterruptas, diárias, de uma fotografia diferente da cidade do Funchal, a capital da ilha da Madeira, em Portugal.
Entre as hipóteses que idealizei para assinalar a data decidi voltar à primeira. Quis associar a efeméride ao Vinho Madeira, conhecido e consumido em todo o mundo.
A minha ideia seria conseguir garrafas datadas de 2009, ano em que o site começou. Mas, na Blandy's Wine Lodge, nas adegas da Madeira Wine, não havia por ser uma data muito recente. Normalmente têm mais de 20 anos para serem datadas, a não ser em ocasiões especiais. Hei-de lá chegar...
Por isso, tive que reformular as ideias.
Umas pipas que estavam em exposição deram uma preciosa ajuda, mas a data não era aquela.
Questionei acerca da existência de pipas nas adegas com a data de 2009 e a resposta foi positiva. Apenas necessitava de autorização superior para recolher imagem.
Sem problemas consegui-a dos meus amigos Christopher Blandy, CEO da Blandy's Madeira, e Francisco Albuquerque, o reputado enólogo da casa, distinguido pelos seus méritos pelo mundo do vinho.
O resultado é este, pipas de Vinho Madeira, das castas Malvasia, do mesmo ano em que surgiu o site Funchal Daily Photo, que, tal como o vinho, leva a Madeira literalmente ao mundo.

Um brinde a si que me acompanha nesta caminhada.

Today is a special day for the site Funchal Daily Photo for full seven years. There were 7 years of uninterrupted, daily publications, with a different picture of the city of Funchal, capital of Madeira, Portugal.
In the cases that I have devised to mark the date decided to return to the first. I wanted to associate the Madeira wine, known and consumed throughout the world, the ephemeris.
My idea would be to get bottles dated 2009, the year in which the site began. But in the cellars of the Madeira Wine was not to be a very recent date. Usually they have more than 20 years to be dated, except on special occasions. I will get there ...
So I had to reformulate ideas.

No problem got it from my friends Christopher Blandy, CEO of Blandy's Madeira, and Francisco Albuquerque, the winemaker reputed house, distinguished by its merits by the world of wine.
The result is this, barrels of Madeira wine, the Malvasia grapes, the same year came the site Funchal Daily Photo, which, like wine, takes Madeira literally the world.
