Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone, better known as St. Francis of Assisi, who lived in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, was a Catholic monk from Italy.
After a restless, worldly youth, he turned to a religious life of complete poverty, founding the mendicant order of Friars Minor, more commonly known as the Franciscans, who renewed Catholicism of his time.

Depois de uma juventude irrequieta e mundana, voltou-se para uma vida religiosa de completa pobreza, fundando a ordem mendicante dos Frades Menores, mais conhecidos como Franciscanos, que renovaram o Catolicismo de seu tempo.
Christian McBride has been to Madeira in Funchal Jazz. It happened two years ago, when he was just another member of the team that played with Chick Corea.
Decided to create a new acoustic trio, who recently recorded the album "Out Here" and which opened with Christian Sands on piano and Jerome Jennings on drums, the last night of concerts on the main stage of the Funchal Jazz Festival in 2015.
Although the first to play are considered a preamble to the stars that will touch later, to me, Christian McBride was the star of the evening yesterday to justify that his talent could not have a secondary role. It was brilliant as well as Christian Sands and Jerome Jennings.
As for Terence Blanchard (the second picture playing the trumpet) had a nice stage presence with a more fanciful and crafted music, and therefore less pure.
In rocking way, the Funchal Jazz in 2015 was spectacular the overall level of the artists, with an organization that has excelled for the accuracy and detail.

Christian McBride já esteve na Madeira no Funchal Jazz. Aconteceu há dois anos, altura em que era apenas mais um elemento da equipa que tocava com Chick Corea.
Decidiu criar um novo trio acústico, que recentemente gravou o álbum “Out Here” e com o qual abriu, com Christian Sands ao piano e Jerome Jennings na bateria, a última noite de concertos, no palco principal do Funchal Jazz Festival 2015.
Embora os primeiros a tocar sejam considerados um preâmbulo para as estrelas que tocarão depois, para mim, Christian McBride foi a estrela da noite de ontem a justificar que o seu talento não poderia ter um papel secundário. Foi brilhante assim como Christian Sands e Jerome Jennings.
Quanto a Terence Blanchard (na segunda fotografia a tocar trompete) teve uma presença agradável em palco com uma música mais fantasiosa e trabalhada, e, por isso, menos pura.
Em jeito de balanço, o Funchal Jazz 2015 foi espetacular a nível global dos artistas presentes, com uma organização que primou pelo rigor e detalhe.
