Today is Christmas Day. This is one of the images alluding to the date which is in the central area of the Avenida Arriaga, the mean street of the city. Each year brings different decorations in Funchal where we living intensely this Christmas season.

Hoje é dia de Natal. Este é uma das imagens alusivas à efeméride que se encontra na área central da Avenida Arriaga. Todos os anos surgem decorações diferentes na cidade que vive intensamente esta época de natal.

The Paragliding is common in the skies over the city. They come from the peaks towards the lower area. Usually land along the berth and, further west in the area of Centromar, that this photograph relates. In the distance we see the Cabo Girão, which is the second highest promontory in the world, rising 580 meters above the sea that washes its base on a large blue transparency. A prática de parapente é frequente nos céus da cidade. Vêm dos picos em direcção à zona baixa. Normalmente aterram junto ao cais e, mais a oeste,na zona do Centromar,a que esta fotografia diz respeito. Ao longe vemos o Cabo Girão, que constitui o segundo maior promontório do mundo, que se eleva 580 metros acima do mar que banha a sua base num azul de uma grande transparência. Não está integrado na cidade do Funchal, mas sim no concelho vizinho de Câmara de Lobos, que é igualmente uma cidade.
