It is without doubt one of the hotels in Funchal that offers the best view of the city. Built in the grounds of an old farmhouse is now a modern and refinement. The name says it all: Quinta das Vistas (farmhouse of the sights).

Probably, I had the privilege of being in one of the most beautiful cruise ships in the world. Celebrity Solstice combines modernity with comfort. I was on board recently, during the opening range in Funchal. I made a quick visit and could grasp what was possible. And getting pictures like this in a storeroom at the entrance to an Italian restaurant at the stern of the ship.

Provavelmente, tive o privilégio de estar em um dos mais belos navios de cruzeiros do mundo. O Celebrity Solstice alia a modernidade ao conforto. Estive a bordo pouco tempo, durante a escala inaugural ao Funchal. Fiz uma visita rápida e captei o que foi possível. E obtive imagens como esta, de uma garrafeira, à entrada de um restaurante de comida italiana, na popa do navio.

É o que se diz estar lugar certo no momento certo. Um dia de manhã, ao olhar para o horizonte, consegui captar a chegada de uma nave vinda de Marte, antes da cidade começar em pânico...
Claro que estou a brincar. Evidentemente que não são extra-terrestres mas antes um bonito raio de luz que conseguiu vencer as nuvens espessas. Gostei do pormenor.

Há dias mostrei uma parte do relvado no topo do navio da Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Solstice. Hoje tenho oportunidade de mostrar um pouco mais do surpreendente verde num barco. É incrível.
Funchal has at Christmas and at the end of the year, one of its main touristic attractions. The streets are lit with many different colors and shapes. This is a way to show some of the lights on one of the main street of the city, the Aljube, reflected in the windows of a Portuguese bank, near the cathedral.

O Funchal tem no Natal e no fim do ano, um dos seus principais cartazes turísticos. As ruas são iluminadas com muitas cores e formas diversas. Esta é uma forma de mostrar uma parte das iluminações numa das principais ruas da cidade, a do Aljube, reflectida nos vidros de um banco português, perto da catedral.
