Yesterday was a hard day in Funchal and in all island of Madeira. The constant rain and strong wind did not ease.
During afternoon, the wind southeast, unusual in the city, encouraged the marginal waves with very strong that this statue was tirelessly to try to sustain the fury of the sea filled with brown land washed away by streams that filled with heavy rains.
Special thanks to my friend and colleague Spinola warned that the waves, and suggested that would make this photo, because other day we had walked around the statue to see the best frameworks. This, with the waves, was one of them.
Without the usual camera I use a Canon, I used what was in my pocket, my phone BlackBerry.

Ontem foi um dia complicado no Funchal e em toda a ilha da Madeira. A chuva constante e o vento forte não facilitaram. Durante tarde, com o vento de sudeste, pouco habitual na cidade, animaram a marginal com ondas muito fortes que esta estátua foi incansável para tentar sustentar a fúria do mar carregado de castanho da terra arrastada pelas ribeiras que encheram com as intensas chuvas.
Um agradecimento especial ao meu amigo e colega Spínola que alertou para a ondulação e sugeriu que fizesse esta foto, isto porque, há dias tínhamos andado à volta da estátua a ver os melhores enquadramentos. Este, com as ondas, era um deles.
Sem a câmara habitual que utilizo, uma Canon, recorri ao que tinha no bolso, o meu telemóvel BlackBerry.
